Two doctors, four decades, one idea
That you are probably going to live longer than you planned for, and your body needs to be able to take you there.
Most chiropractic practices treat the episode in front of them. This one was built around a longer question: if you are going to live to ninety or a hundred, what has to still be working when you get there? That question is the subject of Dr. Eric Plasker's book, and it is the reason care here is planned in decades rather than visits.
Dr. Eric Plasker, DC
A 1985 graduate of Life University, Dr. Eric Plasker has practiced for four decades and has treated more than ten thousand patients. He is the author of the international best-selling book The 100 Year Lifestyle and of The 100 Year Lifestyle Workout.
Life University has recognized him as Chiropractor of the Year and named him a Distinguished Alumnus. His work centers on longevity: making the health decisions now that determine what the last thirty years look like.
Dr. Cory Plasker, DC
Dr. Cory Plasker graduated from Life University in 2019 and received his first adjustment at five minutes old. He played Division I soccer at Georgia State, where he captained the team during the 2014 to 2015 season, and was a Georgia high school state champion and co-captain at Walton High School in 2010 and 2011, as well as a US Youth Soccer national champion.
He works primarily with athletes and active adults on performance and recovery. Having been the player carrying an injury into a season, he tends to ask what you are training for before he asks where it hurts.
How we think about the body
The working premise is that the body regulates and repairs itself continuously, and that this depends on clear communication through the nervous system. Injury, accumulated stress and postural load interfere with that communication. Care is aimed at removing the interference rather than masking the signal it produces.
In practice that means we are as interested in what has changed as in what hurts — the desk that got worse, the sport that stopped, the sleep that shortened. Pain is the last symptom to arrive and the first to leave, which is why it is a poor sole measure of progress.
Three kinds of patient
Most people who walk in here are on one of three journeys, and the plan looks different for each.
- Athletes and active adults getting back to a sport, and staying in it
- Active retirees protecting independence, balance and the ability to keep doing things unaided
- Families choosing conservative care first, including from birth
The 100 Year Lifestyle
This practice is part of The 100 Year Lifestyle network, the longevity framework Dr. Eric Plasker created. It is not a treatment protocol; it is a way of deciding what is worth doing now given how long you are likely to live.
Dr. Eric Plasker or Dr. Cory Plasker. Both are Life University graduates. You are told which doctor you are booked with when you book, not when you arrive.
A longevity framework written by Dr. Eric Plasker, built on the premise that most people will live longer than they planned for and should make health decisions accordingly. It shapes how care is planned here — for the decades ahead, not just the current episode.
Yes, from birth. Pediatric technique is a different discipline from adult adjusting, with force measured in ounces rather than pounds.
